About the Artist

When colors dance and unfold on canvas, that’s where you’ll find Ashwini Chitnavis, an artist whose heart beats in brushstrokes.

Her love for art began early, and at 15, she picked up her first oil brush to capture the world as she saw it. Since then, sunsets have remained her muse—a gentle reminder that even the most chaotic days can end beautifully.

Ashwini’s artistic journey has been anything but one-dimensional. From the bold contrasts of charcoal to the delicate fluidity of watercolors, from vibrant acrylics to the ephemeral grace of traditional Indian Rangoli (sand art), she has embraced every medium with curiosity and joy. Her creativity even scales walls literally with her elegant and simple wall murals, breathing life and splashing colors into blank spaces.

But Ashwini doesn’t keep the joy of painting to herself. She loves to spread it—hosting private paint parties where anyone can become an artist, no experience required. Just bring your enthusiasm and let the colors lead the way.

Ashwini is a wonderful, friendly and patient instructor who makes painting accessible and enjoyable for everyone, especially those who are new to art, feel unsure about their skills, or, like me, don’t have an artistic bone in their body. Her teaching style is gentle and encouraging, never overwhelming, and she creates a relaxed, fun atmosphere in every class. One of the things I appreciate most is how she selects paintings that are achievable for the group, so everyone feels successful and inspired. I always leave her class feeling more confident and creatively energized. Oh and I came in as just a Caszo, and thanks to her, I’m well on my way to becoming a PiCaszo!

Everyone was raving about Ashwini’s class and asked when we are doing this again! I think people enjoyed the convivial atmosphere. Many of them did not know what to expect going in this session, but came out smiling. Kudos to Ashwini for keeping it all together.
